Vassilisa the Beautiful

I'm always amazed and delighted in what I find when searching for vintage collectibles. That's why I love doing it, and I'm excited each time I go to an estate sale or auction.

Each vintage piece has such a rich history, it's almost alive!

That's how I felt when I picked up the book entitled "Vassilisa the Beautiful".

I could tell right off it was a special book. The illustrations were great and it being a Russian book translated into English made it very intriguing. I did alot of research on the book and the version I had was very rare because it was published in Moscow: Gosnak in 1976. It was a favorite fairy tale of the Russians ever since it was written in 1901, so favorite that the book was commissioned by the Russian Department for the production of state documents.

Vassilisa the Beautiful was by Alexander Pushkin, illustratrated by Ivan Bilibin, and translated by Irina Zheleznova. There are 12 pages of color pictorial card wraps.
